It can also be noted that the Boneshark lacks double eye sockets as well as any indication of their prior existence, meaning that the Boneshark must have diverged sooner than the others. The secondary eyes appear considerably smaller and less developed than those found on the Sand Shark and Biter, which are indistinguishable from the front set of eyes in size and appearance. It is possible that these forearms were a large pair of flippers, like those of a sea turtle, which helped propel itself through the water. Although, the fact that they face backward rather than forwards would have made them impossible to use as graspers like the Sea Dragon Leviathan. The arms appear similar to a whale fin in shape and size, though since the PDA states they were forearms it is likely they were indeed arms with webbed hands on the end rather than fins. It also has five-digit hands rather than the Sea Dragon's four-digit hands. The structure of the arms also differs greatly between them whilst the Sea Dragon's - and presumably the Sea Emperor's - arms follow a more familiar structure with a ball and socket joint at the elbow, one upper bone the humerus, and two lower bones the radius and ulna, Theta's arms are unique, with the humerus' equivalent made from two fused bones of equal size running parallel to each other, and rather than the ball and socket joint seen in the elbow of the Sea Dragon, it has a gliding joint composed of carpal bones. If you keep going west from there, you will find an entrance to a deeper biome. The forearms are unique amongst its relatives and seem to have evolved independently as there is very little chance of relation to the Sea Emperor and Sea Dragon group due to major skeletal differences. You can find Nickel in the blue, harmless brine. It'll be in the brine, which is why I recommend a Prawn, which can survive in the green brine. North of the Junction is a good place for Crystaline Sulfur. Once you're there, I'd recommend heading east (unless you already cam from there) to an alien facility there and explore. This is the Junction, where you can get to the rest of the LR. If you find an alien facility, explore it.įollow through the LR until you find your way to an area with a skeleton with an arm. When you're in the Lost River, if you hear a shriek or see a giant snake, go to silent running and don't turn it off until you're past them. You should see a green liquid on the ground. Once you see the end, start descending downward. Follow just inside the trench until you find the end (there is an area where the trench seems to end, but starts again right on the other side). You can find this entrance by heading southwest of lifepod 17 until you find a large slot in the ground. This area is a rather tight fit for the Cyclops. The last entrance is in the Blood Kelp Trench. If you can brave the dangers, this area is pretty wide and open. ![]() ![]() I don't recommend this entrance because the surrounding biome is very dangerous, filled with very dangerous creatures and even a massive Ghost Leviathan not far west of the entrance. There is another entrance just southwest of lifepod 2. You should see a cave entrance, leading to a cave that looks like the biome just outside it, but a brighter light blue tint in the water. If you haven't been there yet, just go beneath the Floating Island and head slightly to the east. There is an entrance north of the 500m Degasi Seabase. ![]() I like the Mountains/Bulb Zone entrance because it's safe for the Cyclops, (which I highly recommend for trips to the LR and deeper, as it is basically a mobile base which you can put growbeds and storage in, as well as docking a Prawn Suit or a Seamoth.) You can find this entrance directly north if lifepod 12, if you have the signal. To (almost) fully explore the Lost River, you need a MK3 seamith depth module, a MK1 Cyclops depth module.
